50 BMG Upper Scope

I just bought a Bohica 50 BMG upper for a AR. It has a massive muzzle brake and is about shooting a 12ga with a high brass duck load. But the brake has the reverse recoil like a spring air gun. The scopes most people recommend are more than the rifle. Is there a middle of the road high power variable that might work on that upper. I have Miculek muzzlebrakes on everything, AR's,AK's,SKS,Dragunov,Lots of bolt guns in 270, 30-06, 308, 7mm and 7.62x54 and have never had a problem yet. Is this concern real or Urban Legend?

I believe that Barrett recommends Leupold M8 and Bushnell Elite 4200 fixed power scopes.

US Optics work very well but they don't fit in the middle of the road cost wise.

My Maadi-Griffin wears an ATN scope made specifically for the 50, but I
haven't really fired it all that much yet to give You much of an idea of life
expectancy. I am also not sure whether it is still available.

I know guys that shoot a tasco on theirs with no problem, that being said some of the top 50 rated scopes are Night Force, US Optics, Leupold, Bushnell, and S&B.
My tasco worked fine on mine, but I ma switching to a bushnell elite 3200 tactical.

If you can swing the money, Bushnell's Elite 6500 is an outstanding scope.

super snipers have a good rep on the 50's as well, but they only come in fixed powers.

I saw the super snipers on SWFA's site. After watching my Gunsmith shoot accross the county with his 50, I blew the budget and got a Night Force 12-42 x 56 Benchrest with the illuminated R-2 Reticle. I have never spent that kind of money on glass, but his works really well and I plan on only having one. My buddies want to buy the 50 upper and need scopes and will not spend that much, so all the advice is really appreciated.

You purchased a superior scope.
